By following the guidance outlined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) in their Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 (WCAG 1.0) our features are focused on the user. The aim is to improve the experience for the following: screen reader users, keyboard navigation and users of text-only browsers.
Structured, semantic mark-up
We have ensured this site's mark-up (HTML) is semantically correct. This has been ensured as the HTML has semantic meaning and so it can be easily navigated by a wide range of users
Style sheets & Images
Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) set the base of the visual layout. If your browser does not support the visual layout then the use of structured semantic mark-up will maintain the readability and the structure of the content of each page.
Descriptions have also been added to the content images used in this site via alt attributes.
